During your stay at Friargate Court there is plenty to experience when you are not studying.  We are in the heart of Preston so it’s definitely worth getting out and about and finding out what the city has to offer.

Take a walk along the Preston Guild Wheel

The Preston Guild Wheel is a 21-mile circular cycle and walking path that takes you around the city and through the surrounding countryside. It is a great way to explore Preston and get some exercise at the same time. It's certainly one of the Preston activities to help with your fitness.

Visit the British Commercial Vehicle Museum

The British Commercial Vehicle Museum is home to a collection of over 200 commercial vehicles from the past 120 years. The museum also has a number of interactive exhibits, making it a great place to learn about the history of commercial transport.

Although we have grounds and gardens for residents to use here at Friargate Court, sometimes you need to get back to nature.  Avenham and Miller Parks are two of Preston’s largest and most popular parks. The parks offer a variety of activities, including walking, running, cycling, and boating. There is also a children’s playground and a cafe in Avenham Park.

Visit the Ribchester Roman Museum

The Ribchester Roman Museum is located in the nearby village of Ribchester. The museum tells the story of the Roman fort that was once located in Ribchester. The museum has a collection of Roman artifacts, including pottery, coins, and jewelry.
