Come and celebrate the year of the Pig with the Confucius Institute at the Harris with events for all ages. This is a fun-packed, family-friendly day with plenty of things to see and do. Plus- it’s FREE!

An amazing celebration of Chinese New Year presented by UCLan Confucius Institute, with the incredible performing talents of the internationally-renowned Shanghai Theatre Academy! Expect an amazing mix of dance, theatre, and music, all of them detailing the intricacy, history, and beauty of Chinese culture.

The Carnival returns for one of the most colourful and lively events in Lancaster! Expect another incredible day with streets full of tasty international food, gifts, souvenirs, exciting funfair rides for the family and entertainment throughout the day with artists, musicians and martial arts taking the stage in Market Square.
There will be a funfair in Market Square for kids of all ages to enjoy alongside entertainment throughout the day with music, dance and martial arts taking to the stage from 11am – 4pm.
The Parade will start from 2pm following a path through the high street and circling the city centre around all the main thoroughfares for everyone to take in the lively and colourful performances.
